Hello to all my herbalist friends!
It's been a few weeks, so I'm happy to update you with 23 new events happening all over the United States. Although, as a reminder, I'd love HerbRally to be more of a global resource, so if you live outside of the US and know of the herbal happenings, please shoot me an e-mail with the details. Here's my contact page: www.herbrally.com/contact. Here's the current "International Events" page:http://www.herbrally.com/international-events/.
To all of you who have sent me event and HERBALIST DIRECTORY additions, I want to thank you for your patience! I have been extremely busy with many things, including my day-job at Mountain Rose. I just got back from the Mother Earth News Fair in Asheville, NC and had a great time connecting with that crowd of (20,000) people. Asheville, and the surrounding area in NC, is such an incredible herbalism hub. I had the pleasure of hangin' out with some of my favorite peeps: Rosemary Gladstar, Mimi Hernandez, Gloria Black Anders, Guissepi, Ally and the Free Tea Bus, not too mention the Mountain Rose crew, and many other righteous folks. Although the Mother Earth News Fair is not a strictly herbal event, I highly recommend you check one out if you're in the area of their six annual events. For more information and to see the event dates and cities, here's their website: http://www.motherearthnewsfair.com/.
I'd like to announce that HerbRally is a proud sponsor of the 2016 Chesapeake Herbal Gathering(September 24th - 25th, 2016)! If you're in the DC/Maryland area, definitely don't miss this event. Here are some details on the event:
The Chesapeake Herb Gathering is an annual event organized by Centro Ashé bringing together inter-generational herbal, land-based, and healing communities to elebrate our stories, our knowledge, our culture and traditions. Enjoy a weekend of workshops, plant walks, youth activities, community artwork, social justice, artisans market, campfire, and community connections with local herbalists, teachers, clinicians, healers, botanists, farmers, birthkeepers, medicine makers, rootworkers, artists, homesteaders, community organizations and much more!
This is a family friendly event . . . bring the youth and elders!
My good friend Nick has written the most incredible monograph on Moringa. If you don't know much about this plant, or even if you do, you should check out this piece. And trust me, it's not over-hyped and doesn't delve into why it's the latest and greatest super-food. 'Cuz eveyone knows, super-foods are bullshit :)
Anyway, HERE'S THE LINK, prepared to be dazzled! I will be posting a new Mugwort monograph soon written by our other regular contributor, Krystal Thompson (of Hotel Wilderness).
As usual, the herbalist directory is truckin' along. I'm getting a few additions here and there (and honestly I still need to catch up on some, so thank you again for your patience). If you're an herbalist and would like to be listed, get all the details here: www.herbrally.com/contact.
If you're interested in helping support HerbRally and it's mission to get people outside and to events where they can commune with the plants and plant people (ironically I'm inside for many hours a week behind a computer working on this) here's a couple of ways you can do so:
- Purchase high quality organic herbs through HerbRally's Mountain Rose Herbs affiliate link by clicking HERE.
- Purchase neato botanical illustration t-shirts (or the new Dandelion Hoodie) at the HerbRally shop. Here's a link to that: http://herbrally.myshopify.com/
- Donate as little as a $1/month to the HerbRally Patreon page. For more info on that, click HERE.
Thanks to you all for your time and attention.
Don't forget to check out all of the amazing herbal events listed below!
